Throttle Body Cleaning

Carbon and sludge removed from the bore, plate and idle passages.

2–3 working days from receipt.

Carbon and oil vapour build up on the throttle plate and bore, disrupting airflow and causing rough idle, hesitation, stalling and sometimes limp mode. Ultrasonic cleaning removes it evenly without scratching the bore or forcing solvent into the throttle position sensor.

We clean drive-by-wire and cable throttle bodies, taking care around electronic actuators and sensors.

What we clean

  • Electronic (drive-by-wire) throttle bodies
  • Cable throttle bodies
  • Idle air control valves
  • Intake elbows & plenums (small)
  • Throttle plates & spindles

What's included

  • Careful masking of electronics
  • Ultrasonic cleaning of bore & plate
  • Idle passage clearing
  • Rinse, dry & lubricate spindle
  • Inspection report

Our process

Mask & protect

Motors and sensors are protected or removed where possible before cleaning.

Ultrasonic clean

The body, plate and idle passages are cleaned to remove carbon and oily film.

Dry & inspect

The unit is dried, the spindle lightly lubricated and function checked.

Benefits

  • Smoother idle & throttle response
  • Clears hesitation and stalling
  • Even, scratch-free cleaning
  • Protects sensitive electronics

Frequently asked questions

Will I need to reset the throttle adaptation?

Often yes — many cars relearn idle automatically, some need a diagnostic reset. Your garage can do this on refit.
